Meet the Veterinarians & Team of Cambridge Veterinary Services in Cambridge, ON!
Veterinarians

My philosophy in veterinary medicine is constantly changing as I grow and learn. The core value which never changes is the importance of communication. You – the owner, pet parent, mom, dad or guardian – are the expert on your animal. It is my job as the expert in animal health to listen, assess, and provide advice and recommendations, then listen again as we decide together how to take care of your pet.
I love preventative care. You can’t always avoid illness but I’d rather prevent 100 animals from getting sick than treat 100 sick pets. I have also found treating diseases of the skin and eyes particularly rewarding.
In my personal life, I would call myself an athletic nerd. I basically wish I was Henry Cavill (and I doubt Britt would complain). My go-to stress buster is video games, but I also enjoy reading and board games. On the athletic side I have played hockey my entire life, I enjoy hiking, backcountry camping, cycling and fitness in general. I struggle to find time for snowboarding and Dungeons and Dragons (not at the same time though, that’d be crazy). Dr. Britt and I have a daughter together and a house full of pets. If you ask at the clinic, they’ll probably tell you our daughter has had me wrapped around her finger since she was born.

While pursuing my special interests in dentistry and surgery, I’ve taken several dental courses, spent countless hours honing my skills, been hired to teach these skills to fellow veterinarians, and even given talks on teaching dental skills at the OVC. I came to CVS in 2021 to provide high quality care for my patients, and together with my husband–Dr. Luke–took over ownership of Cambridge Veterinary Services in late 2023. We’re very excited about continuing to provide the excellent care and personal feel our clients are used to, while ensuring that we’re staying up to date with the advancements of modern medicine.
One of the best parts of my job (besides the obvious–wet puppy kisses and the sweet satisfaction of removing a painful tooth!), is building relationships with my clients through clear communication and client education. My mission is to reduce pain and suffering through preventative surgery and comprehensive dental care, and to help my patients live long, happy lives with their well-informed pet-parents at their sides.
Outside of work, you might find me enjoying anything related to science fiction or fantasy, working on my novel, or spending time outdoors with my family–including a dog, two cats, a small flock of laying hens, and one daughter who gets both more sassy and loveable by the day.

Building trusting relationships with our clients and helping their furry companions is at the heart of what I enjoy the most.

Dr. Whitney has been a part of the team at Cambridge Veterinary Services since 2016. Her interests include dental care and preventative medicine, and she strives to become more proficient in ultrasound. She lives in Kitchener with her husband, and her crazy dog, Cinder, and two cats, Athena and Thor. When she isn’t working, she loves crafting, finding new places to hike and explore, and playing soccer or downhill skiing.

Dr. Amanda enjoys helping both people and pets in the challenges of general practice, and has special interests in preventative medicine and diagnostic imaging. She happily devotes most of her spare time to her husband and children. Dr. Amanda looks forward to sharing her love of animals with her children, and the enrichment furry siblings can bring.
